A Tropical Novel for a Winter’s Read

Greetings, and Happy New Year! This comes to you from my snuggly-warm home in the midst of a winter storm. Grab a cup of your favorite hot drink and settle by the fire for a few minutes. This past Christmas was our second in a row without children or grandchildren present. My husband and I are in the era when our family members are celebrating with their spouse’s family or establishing traditions in their own homes. So we invited another couple in a similar situation to a celebratory Christmas dinner with us. Fortunately, our daughter’s family was all here for Thanksgiving, and our son’s family plans to be here for Easter. We’re still tight. So the new year stretches before us, a white canvas on which we sketch our ideas, plans, and hopes. Some foggy, some firm. Places to go, things to do. Books to read, books to write. Having published the 1930s era novel, Rose by Another Name, in July, 2024, I’m now in the throes of rewrites on a contemporary romance. I hope to complete it this year. The working title is Blessed Insurance, but that isn’t written in stone. More about that novel in a future letter.
